In defense of Bill DeWeese - William Costopoulos began day six of the DeWeese trial by calling attorney William Chadwick to the witness stand, Chadwick was hired by the democratic caucus in March 2007 soon after the "Bonusgate"scandal became public.

Chadwick took the stand at 9:38 am and finished up at 10:40 Chadwick was granted "complete license" by the democratic caucus to examine millions of documents and emails, Chadwick's team would narrow the search to some 200,000 plus documents and proceed to set up a large "boiler room" in Washington D.C. where a staff of 25 "temp" attorneys filtered through the information by using a Google type key word search of 50 research terms and 50 names to narrow the number of documents to around 5,700 the information was turned over to Senior Deputy Attorney Frank Fina in what Chadwick called a collaboration between the caucus and Fina.

During cross examination by Kenneth Brown, Chadwick referred to his findings of democratic caucus policies as cold, murky, no hard lines, a very lax environment, Chadwick went on to describe the continued power of former House Whip Mike Veon, even though he lost the election and was out of office, Veon and Manzo would met on the the capitol steps, when questioned on why he fought the Attorney General office issuing subpoenas Chadwick said the OAG's office came into the capitol with "guns blazing" a "heavy handed" action, but eventually worked out the misunderstanding with Fina.

Chadwick admitted the amount of money the caucus paid his firm was around $1.7 million and went on to say "this consumed our lives" it was 24/7 this was a "crisis of the first order".
