Sylvia Rigal appeared before Harrisburg City Council to show support for Wanda Williams' decision to bulldoze a community garden located at the cornor of 6th and Curtin streets in Harrisburg.

Rigal insists that even though she spoke with both City of Harrisburg Department of Building & Housing Development management as well as staff from the Office of the Mayor, no one explained to her that the City of Harrisburg was bound in a lease agreement with Green Urban Initiative (GUI). She said, "I think this thing could a not been blown out of proportion had we known that those people were leasing the lot." The lease agreement stated that GUI should have been given 30 days notice if the City intended to break the lease; however, the garden was bulldozed by Public Works without any notice to GUI---Tara Leo Auchey Tags: harrisburg sylvia rigal, garden bulldoze, wanda williams.
