Type of Incident: Robbery investigation Date/Time: 12-19-2012, at about 1940 hrs.

Location: N. 4th & Kelker Sts.

Investigating Officer: Det. Richard Iachini

Victim R/S/A: White male, 27, suburban Harrisburg resident

Suspect: Black male, about 5’10” tall. See attached photos

Charges: Pending

Narrative: On 12-19-2012 at about 1950 hrs. patrol officers were dispatched to N. 4th and Kelker Sts. on a report of a robbery. The victim said that he befriended a man who was standing outside at the gas station/convenience store at N. 6th and Reily Sts. The victim was staying at the Bethesda Mission next door and had gone to the store for a few items. The man said that he usually eats at the Mission but had missed the 1745 hrs. meal and was hungry. The victim agreed to get a snack and cigarettes with his Access card and went into the store. He was not able to get cigarettes. The man said that he knew someone who could trade Access card points for cigarettes and they walked off. A bit later the man attacked the victim, hitting him on the head with a hard object and knocked him to the pavement. The robber took the victim’s last two cigarettes and $4.00. The robber berated the victim for being so stupid as to offer help to someone in that neighborhood and he walked off.

The victim suffered contusions and lacerations to the head. He was taken to the Harrisburg Hospital for treatment.

Surveillance video at the store was checked and two photographs of the suspect were developed. Det. Iachini has been trying to identity the suspect through various contacts and is now reaching out to the public for help in identifying the suspect.
