MAYOR PAPENFUSE APPLAUDS HARRISBURG FIREFIGHTERS FOR HISTORIC CONTRACT VOTE.

HARRISBURG – Leaders of the Capital City Paid Firefighter’s Association IAFF Local 428 will hold a press conference at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the atrium of the MLK Government Center, 10 N. Second St., Harrisburg, PA, to announce a contract agreement, clearing the way for a balanced budget for 2014.

“I applaud the firefighters for this historic vote and look forward to working collaboratively with them in the coming years to serve the people of our city,” Mayor Eric Papenfuse said. “This is truly a great sign that Harrisburg is on the move and ready for economic recovery.”

Papenfuse said that City Council still must approve the agreement. Acting Chief Brian Enterline and union leaders will join Mayor Papenfuse at the press conference to provide details of the agreement.
