Pa Senate appropriations committee discusses SB 324

Short Title:

A Joint Resolution proposing integrated amendments and separate and distinct amendments to the Constitution of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, abolishing the Office of Lieutenant Governor and reorganizing executive functions; reducing the size of the General Assembly; and reducing the size of the Supreme Court and the Superior Court.

Senator Blake. Discussion of the bill and a failed amendment.

Senator Costa. A no vote.

Senator Eichelberger. Lets address what I call the "incumbency protection plan"

Senator Smucker. The Pa legislature is the second largest in America.

Senator Scarnati. I have never been in favor of reducing the size of the senate.

Senator Vulakovich. I've heard no discussion on the judges whatsoever.

Senator Pileggi. A motion to divide the question.

Senate appropriations committee passed SB 324 Monday afternoon at 2:42 PM.

SB 324 approved by a 18-8 vote.
