Computergate Sentencing: John Perzel - 30-60 months

Frank Fina, Chief Deputy Attorney General, discusses the sentences of both former PA Speaker of the House John Perzel and his Chief of Staff, Brian Preski. On March 21st both men were sentenced for "Computergate," a scandal focused on Perzel's use of more than $10 million in taxpayer funds and resources for his own campaign purposes.

Fina discusses Perzel's cooperation and states that the sentencing reflects that. Perzel was sentenced to 30 to 60 months in prison, 5 years probation, $30,000 in fines, and ordered to pay $1 million in restitution. Perzel also forfeits his pension which is calculated to be in excess of $1 million. Preski was sentenced to 24-48 months in prison, 5 years probation, $37,500 fine, and ordered to pay $1 million in restitution.

Both men will report to Dauphin County prison April 11th. --Tara Leo Auchey
