On March 30, 2012, the City of Harrisburg's Receiver, David Unkovic, resigned leaving a vacancy in PA's inaugural Office of the Receiver. Until a new receiver is appointed, Fred Reddig, Executive Director of PA's Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) has been designated "Administrator of the Office of the Receiver." During the April 11th meeting of the Municipal Advisory Committee, Reddig explains the purpose and role of the committee per the amended Act 47 statute. Reddig also assures the public that despite Unkovic's resignation, the process of Harrisburg's financial recovery has proceeded "on all fronts." Teams are in place carrying outthe implementation of the Commonwealth Court-appointed Recovery Plan established by Unkovic before his abrupt departure.--Tara Leo Auchey
