Started in September 2011, the Seventh Street Corridor project is complete.

A major thoroughfare in and out of the City of Harrisburg, Seventh Street from Maclay to Reily Streets has now been widened from two to four lanes with increased sidewalks and street lights. The project also includes the renovation of the Maclay Street Bridge. The federally funded project is estimated to cost $6.5 million although a final cost has not yet been publicized by PennDOT.

The Seventh Street Corridor project is expected to attract businesses along the road as was the vision and intention of former Mayor Stephen Reed, who had hoped to see the project started before the end of his tenure.

At the ribbon cutting, Mayor Linda Thompson said, "We're excited about the opportunities it's going to bring for the plantation of new business development."
