PRESS RELEASE. Type of Incident: Shooting investigation. . Date / Time: 01-09-2013, at about 1820 hrs. . Location: S. 15th and Vernon Sts.

. Investigating Officer: Detective Jeffrey Schriver. . Person R/S/A: Hispanic male, 30, Allison Hill resident. . Suspect: Black male, about 25, thin, 6’ tall, light complexion and wearing a white jacket and black hat.

. Charges: Pending . Narrative: On 01-09-2013 at about 1820 hrs. patrol officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of Vernon St. on a report that a man had been shot. A man with a several gunshot wounds was found inside a deli / grocery store in that block. He said that had just left the residence of a friend and was walking in the 1500 block of Derry St. As he turned onto 15th St. he was attacked from behind by the robber who hit him and demanded his wallet. The man said that he didn’t have anything and broke free. The robber then pulled out a handgun and shot the man six times as he ran for help. The man was shot twice in the arm, twice in the back and twice in the leg. The man ran to the deli and asked for help. He was taken to the Hershey Medical Center.

Fortunately, none of the small caliber bullets hit any vital organs and the man is expected to recover soon.
