PRESS RELEASE. Type of Incident: Shooting investigation.

. Date / Time: 01-09-2013, at about 0900 hrs. . Location: 1300 block of Vernon St. .

Investigating Officer: Patrol Division. .. Person R/S/A: N/A . Suspect: Tyron Mosley, black male, 20, Allison Hill resident . . Charges: Person Not to Possess Firearm.

. Narrative: On 01-09-2013 at about 0915 hrs. patrol officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of Vernon St. on a report that a man had shot himself. Tyron Mosley was found sitting on a porch. He had a bullet wound to his thigh. He said that he found a handgun and was checking it out because he decided to keep it. Somehow it fired and he was shot in the leg. He claimed that he threw the gun over a fence. Officers were not able to find the handgun. Mosley was charged as noted. He is expected to recover soon and will be processed on the charge.
