Harrisburg Crime Report: Shooting Investigations

Four separate shooting incidents were reported in the City of Harrisburg Monday February 25, 2012

As reported by the Harrisburg Bureau of Police:

Type of Incident: Shooting investigation.

. Date / Time: 02-25-2013, at about 1450 hrs.

. Location: Hale Ave. at the John Harris High School.

. Investigating Officer: Detective Joseph Zimmerman.

. Victim R/S/A: Not specified.

. Suspect: Three young black males – possibly former students.

. Charges: Pending.

. Narrative: On 02-25-2013 at about 1455 hrs. patrol officers were dispatched to the Hale Ave. side of the John Harris High School on a report of a shooting. Responding officers learned that three young men, possibly former John Harris students, were seen walking on the school property on the side near the Kline Village Shopping Center. They were confronted by staff and asked to leave the property. They walked across the property toward Hale Ave. As they got to Hale Ave. one man yelled something like, “there they go” while pointing at a vehicle stopped in traffic on Hale Ave. waiting to go on to Market St. The group ran toward that vehicle while firing handguns at the vehicle. That vehicle backed into the front of a car behind it and then sped off and the group ran after it still shooting. The vehicle was located a short time later in the 1100 block of Market St. A witness saw four young black males run from the vehicle. The vehicle was apparently damaged by gunfire. It had been reported stolen in the Uptown section of the city the day before.

. No one is known to have been hurt in the incident. . The identities of the three young men are being established. They and their families are asked to contact the police to arrange surrender to the case. The investigation continues and anyone having any information on this is asked to contact Det. . A shooting reportedly took place at about 1635 hrs. near S. 19th St. and Bellevue Rd. A woman heard several shots being fired. A grey or light blue Cadillac car might have been involved. Responding officers located a spent shotgun shell and broken car glass in the area. No reports of injuries to anyone. .

A shooting reportedly took place at about 1645 hrs. in the 1300 block of Kittatinny St. A man reported that he allowed a stranger into his residence who was seeking another person. The stranger turned violent and attacked the victim who fought and shoved the man out of the house. The stranger pulled out a handgun and fired it into the air and left the area. No reports of injuries to anyone.

. A shooting reportedly took place in the 1700 block of Walnut St. at about 1945 hrs. A 21 year old man reported that he was walking when a dark colored car drove past and the driver fired a handgun at him. The car sped off. The man ran to a wooded area of Reservoir Park and called for police. He was not harmed.
