As released by the Harrisburg Police Department.

Suspect: Theodore Meriweather.

On 06/22/2013 at about 11:40 pm patrol officers were dispatched to the area of Dewberry and Blackberry Sts. on a report of a shooting with a man down. The victim was found on the roadway. He had suffered a single gunshot wound to the upper chest.

Witness accounts provided that John Lumpkins came into the Pub Bar where he saw his estranged wife and Theodore Meriweather. Meriweather shot Lumpkins once.

Lumpkins was taken to the Harrisburg Hospital by ambulance. He did not survive. The officers were approached by Meriweather. He told them that he shot Lumpkins and pointed out that his handgun was on the front seat of his car. He was taken into custody. City detectives were called to the scene and handled the investigation.
