HB1437 currently resides in the Senate Appropriations Committee and is scheduled for a vote at some point this evening.

Sources at the Capitol have provided a few details about this years spending figures.

The spending level is said to be $28.375 billion, an increase of 2.3%.

Basic Education is up $122.5 million vs. current year. The governor had proposed an additional $90m, the House budget included an additional $100m.

The cuts which appear in DCNR line items are being filled with funds from the Oil & Gas fund. In other words, there will NOT be actual cuts to state parks and state forests.

This is not a final agreement, we'll be sure to provide updates or corrections as necessary.
