The Harrisburg Police Department has issued the following press release:

Trick or Treat night will be held in Harrisburg on October 31, 2013 from 6-8pm. To increase safety, the Harrisburg Police Patrol Division will have assistance on the street until 10 pm. These officers will be comprised of City Detectives that will be working in a uniformed capacity.

The Harrisburg Bureau of Police reminds everyone to be very careful and alert during Halloween. When walking the streets, please carry a flashlight and be well illuminated. Cross the street at the corner, not between parked vehicles. Adults should escort small children. Motorists should be on heightened alert for increased pedestrian traffic. Drive slowly through residential areas.
