The House of Representatives isn't back in session until December 9th, 2013, but the Senate is scheduled to reconvene at 1:00 pm today.

Here's a look at House and Senate Committee action scheduled to take place later today.

At 10:00 am the House Education Committee will hold a public hearing on HB 1722, HB 1735, HB 779 in room 205 of the Ryan Office Building. These bills address Furloughs for public school employees.

The House Veterans Affairs & Emergency Preparedness Committee will meet at 2:00 pm for an informational meeting with Jason M. Simms, Sr. a Veteran's Recruitment Representative for the Navy OCHR Philadelphia Operations Center in Room G50 of the Irvis Office building.

The Senate has scheduled nine committee meetings for today, here's their schedule.

At 11:30 am the Community, Economic & Recreational Development Committee will meet to consider Senate Resolution No. 273 in the Senate Majority Caucus Room.

The Senate Judiciary Committee will meet at 11:30 am to consider Senate Bills No. 1055, 1164 and 1197; and House Bill No. 414 in Room 8E-B of the East Wing.

At 12:30 pm Labor & Industry will hold a public hearing on the nomination of Keren Putman to the Unemployment Compensation Board of Review; and consider Senate Bill No. 1195 in Room 461 of the Main Capitol.

Senate State Government will meet at 12:30 pm to consider Senate Bills No. 833, 885, 1096 and 1191; Senate Resolution No. 207; and House Bill No. 1247 in Room 8E-B of the East Wing.

The following meetings will be called off the floor of the Senate and held in the Senate Rules Committee Conference Room. Urban Affairs & Housing will consider House Bill No. 1644 in the Rules Committee Conference Room.

Aging & Youth to consider House Bills No. 433, 436 and 726 in the Rules Committee Conference Room.

Rules & Executive Nominations is set to consider Senate Bills No. 607 and 1042; and certain Executive Nominations.

The Senate Appropriations Committee will consider Senate Bills No. 707, 814 and 990; and House Bills No. 321, 431 and 546.

The Finance Committee will consider Senate Bill No. 1009.
