Attorneys Brian Perry and Kristen Weisenberger held a 4pm press event to discuss the criminal homicide charge filed against Hummelstown police officer Lisa Mearkle.

Mearkle appeared in front of Magisterial District Judge Lowell Witmer Tuesday afternoon and was charged in the shooting death of David Kassick, Judge Witmer refused bail leading to Perry's firm filing a bail motion, Dauphin county Common Pleas Judge Richard Lewis ruled Mearkle's bail be set at $250K.

Video of the press event.

Today is a sad day in the law enforcement community in central Pennsylvania.

Mearkle held the taser with a video camera mount on Mr Kassick, on purpose. She wanted this thing recorded.
