As released by the Office of the Attorney General:

HARRISBURG – Attorney General Kathleen G. Kane today released the following statement regarding her sister's emails.

"State ethics laws prohibit my involvement in any disciplinary action taken by the OAG with respect to my sister, Attorney Ellen Granahan; at no time did I personally review her emails prior to earlier this week.

"Contrary to the impression created yesterday, I have never characterized or judged the content of my sister’s emails; that was solely in the hands of others in my office. These emails, along with all of the others, will now be judged by the independent prosecutor.

"All emails will be reviewed and decided upon by Mr. Gansler, independent special prosecutor, with full report, recommendations and/or criminal action."
