Hampden Township commissioners have authorized the sale of 43 used officer duty and other weapons.

Bids are due January 4, 2016 at 10am.

NOTICE

SALE OF SURPLUS OFFICER DUTY AND OTHER WEAPONS

NOTICE is hereby given that the Board of Commissioners of Hampden Township, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, has authorized the sale of used surplus officer duty and other weapons consisting of 29 three-magazine .40 caliber Sig-Sauer semi-automatic handguns (both Model P229 (11 in number) and P229R (18 in number)), two Charter Arms Undercover .38 caliber revolvers, five Colt .38 caliber revolvers, three Smith & Wesson revolvers (one .357 caliber and two .38 caliber), three Smith & Wesson Model 60 revolvers (one .357 caliber and two .38 caliber), one Ruger 556 .223 caliber rifle. Any bid made must be in writing and delivered in a sealed envelope labelled “Hampden Township Surplus Weapons Bid” for all of the weapons noted above. No weapon will be bid or sold individually. All bidders must be qualified to possess, transport and accept transfer of all weapons. The successful bidder shall be required to accept transfer of all weapons, at the successful bidder’s sole cost, within 30 days of notice of the bid award. Each bid shall contain bid security in the amount of 10% of the bid amount in the form of a certified check payable to Hampden Township, with the balance of the bid amount to be paid in certified funds to Hampden Township within 30 days of award of the bid and before transfer of the weapons. All funds paid to Hampden Township by the successful bidder shall be forfeited in the event the weapons are not properly transferred to the successful bidder within 30 days of notice of the bid award. All bids must be received at the offices of Hampden Township, 230 S. Sporting Hill Road, Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, by January 4, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. All timely bids will be opened at the above offices on January 4, 2016 at 10:15 a.m. by the Hampden Township Chief of Police or Township Manager. If all bids are not rejected it is anticipated that during the regular public meeting of the Board of Commissioners to be held at 7:30 p.m. on January 4, 2016, at the above offices, award will be made to the best responsible bidder. The Board of Commissioners may reject any bids received believed to be less than the fair market value or for any other reason. Serial numbers and the years of all weapons noted above are available here Weapon Inventory and no inspection of the weapons will be permitted.
