After a rash of weekend crime in the capital city, which included the late night mugging of State Representative Jared Gibbons along with his COS and an intern, on Tuesday Governor Corbett was asked if Harrisburg Mayor Thompson had asked for help from the State Police.
"No she has not asked. She has not reached out to us at this point in time." Pointing out that the State Police force is already stretched with its current duties, Corbett explained he's not sure what assistance the State can give.
The Governor went on to say, "But if the Mayor wants to give us a call, I won't turn her down. I don't know what we'll be able to do." --Tara Leo Auchey
