In his first official appearance in City Council Chambers as the Receiver of the City of Harrisburg, William Lynch is read a statement by Council President Wanda Williams in regard to an order of compliance he sent to her.
She states, "We are more than willing to work with [Receiver Lynch], but we don't work for him. We work for the citizens of the City of Harrisburg and they are the ones we are most concerned about." She goes on to question the authority of the State to order elected officials to do something against their concept of what is beneficial to their constituency.
In response, Lynch declares he is following the amended Act 47 statute. "That's what that's all about." ---Tara Leo Auchey
