As part of the City of Harrisburg Department of Public Works 2013 Budget requests, newly hired director Kevin Hagerich explains a $700,000 increase in the Buildings & Structure line item. The City Government Center requires roof maintenance, and the Mayor is interested in going green. So, according to Hagerich, it's best for the City to invest in a green roof that includes an employee sitting area so City staff can smoke their cigarettes and take their breaks up top instead of in front or back of City Hall.---Tara Leo Auchey .
