Tonight at 6:00pm, the City of Harrisburg's Mayor Linda Thompson will present her 2013 Budget.

In September, the Administration conducted Budget review requests from each department of the City. While these initial requests were just that--requests--it gave us a taste of what The Thompson Administration may propose in the actual budget.

As part of the City of Harrisburg Department of Public Works 2013 Budget requests, newly hired director Kevin Hagerich explains a $700,000 increase in the Buildings & Structure line item. The City Government Center requires roof maintenance, and the Mayor is interested in going green. So, according to Hagerich, it's best for the City to invest in a green roof that includes an employee sitting area so City staff can smoke their cigarettes and take their breaks up top instead of in front or back of City Hall.
