As released by the Harrisburg Police dept:

Type of Incident: Robbery Unlawful Restraint. . Date / Time: 01-26-2013 at about 0045 hrs.

. Location: 2300 block of Derry St.

. Investigating Officer: Det. Richard Iachini . Victim R/S/A: Black male, 24, Uptown Harrisburg resident. . Suspect: Black male, light complexion, about 6’ tall, thin and wearing a black hooded sweatshirt.

. Black male, light complexion, about 5’8” tall, heavy set and wearing a black hooded sweatshirt.

. Charges: Pending . Narrative: On 01-26-2013 at about 0300 hrs. patrol officers were dispatched to the Hershey Medical Center on a report that a robbery victim was there for treatment. The victim said that he was socializing at Bill’s Café in the 2300 block of Derry St. He had some photographs and frames with him and decided to take them to his car. He sat in his car for a few moments to charge his cell phone. A black male came up to the passenger side window and asked for a light. The victim gave him a lighter. The man seemed suspicious and the victim decided to pull away. The man then put on a face mask and dove into the open passenger side window while brandishing a handgun and yelling to the victim to drive off. The robber then ordered the victim to stop. When the victim stopped he noticed that a dark colored mini-van was behind him. Another robber got out of the van and joined the first robber. They forced the victim to get into the trunk at gunpoint. The victim got in the trunk and the robbers drove off. The victim found the trunk release and opened the trunk. He realized that the robbers were driving on I-83 near the Bass Pro Shop. The robbers yelled at him, ordering him not to do it. As the car sped up the victim rolled out and onto the roadway. He suffered numerous contusions and abrasions. He was able to get a passing motorist to stop and call for help. . The victim’s car was subsequently found in Swatara Twp. near Penhar Drive. The victim’s wallet was found in the trunk. His cell phone and a small amount of cash are missing.

. The victim was treated for his minor injuries and released.
