. Date / Time: 03-27-2013, at about 0120 hrs.
. Location: 900 block of N. 3rd St.
. Investigating Officer: Det. John O’Connor . Injured R/S/A: White male, 27, suburban Harrisburg.
. Suspect: Unknown.
. Charges: Pending.
. Narrative: On 03-27-2013 at about 0125 hrs. patrol officers were dispatched to the 900 block of N. 3rd St. on a report that a man had been shot and crawling toward a parked car.
The wounded man told officers that he was in the area visiting a friend. He left the friend and walked to his car. He was approached from behind by a robber who demanded his valuables. The man grabbed a handgun that was in his waistband and it discharged. The man suffered a gunshot wound to the groin and was bleeding profusely.
He was rushed to the Hershey Medical Center and underwent emergency surgery.
The officers found a handgun hidden between the curb and a parked car. They also found a bullet proof vest under the parked car.
Items of drug paraphernalia were found in the man’s clothing A number of issues remain unanswered.
