Type of Incident: Assault investigation

. Date / Time: 04-06-2013 at about 2120 hrs.

. Location: 100 block of Locust St.

. Investigating Officer: Det. Jason Paul.

. Victim: Black male, 59, no fixed address. Last known address is in Allison Hill.

. Suspect: Unknown.

. Charges: Pending.

. Narrative: On 04-06-2013 at about 2125 hrs. patrol officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Locust St. on a report that a man was unconscious on the roadway. A Medic Unit was noted to be en route. One of the night shift patrol officers was on his way to work and heard the radio call. He is a trained emergency medical technician and since he was just two blocks away, he went to the scene. He attended to the victim who was unresponsive. He also spoke to a woman who said that she saw what happened. She said that a man in a red car stopped, got out of the car, and punched the victim in the face. The victim fell and the assailant drove off. The woman refused to wait for responding officers, citing that she didn’t want to get involved. She left. She is encouraged to contact any Harrisburg City police officer.

. The victim was taken to the Harrisburg Hospital and was admitted. He remains in the intensive care unit and is still unconscious as of Monday afternoon.
