As released by the City of Harrisburg Police Department: Purse Snatching-Robbery.

Harrisburg Police were dispatched to the 2500 block of Derry St on August 6th, 2013 at 1 pm for a Robbery. The victim stated that a black male ran up behind her and grabbed her backpack, which she was carrying.

As the male, later identified as Andrew Awotwi, began to flee the area, a bystander heard the victim screaming. The bystander began to chase after the robber and finally caught up to him. He was able to hold him down until the police arrived a few moments later. All of the victim’s property was recovered and Awotwi confessed to having committed the Robbery.
