During Tuesday evenings Harrisburg City Council caucus meeting council president Wanda Williams made a plea to fellow council members to rally against Senator John H. Eichelberger (R-30) Chairman of the Senate Local Government Committee and Co-Chair of Act 47 Municipal Fiscal Distress Task Force.
President Williams states that she attended a League of Cities directors board meeting in Philadelphia and became aware of pending legislation related to municipalities designated under Act 47.
Of the municipalities in Act 47 Williams says "Two of them are going to be disincorporated, meaning that the state will take them over, meaning that all of the employees will lose their jobs, that the state will control the services of the city."
Unaware that just minutes earlier Wanda Williams requested council members to lobby against Senator Eichelberger, Neil Grover, legal counsel to Harrisburg City Council recommends council members lobby Senator Eichelberger to help the city. He is approachable.
