HARRISBURG - Sen. Robert P. Casey Jr., former Gov. Ed Rendell and State Rep. Patty Kim are calling voters throughout Harrisburg urging them to elect Democratic Candidate Eric Papenfuse the next Mayor of Harrisburg.

"Eric Papenfuse is the only real Democrat for Mayor, and is the most qualified candidate to fix Harrisburg’s financial crisis, improve our public schools and make our streets safer," Rendell told voters in a recorded telephone message that was sent to Harrisburg residents. "As a former Mayor of a troubled city, I know what it takes to turn Harrisburg around . . . and Democrat Eric Papenfuse will offer the new leadership we need."

Rendell joined Casey and Kim to urge voters to go to the polls on Nov. 5 and vote for the Democratic candidate for Mayor.

"Now more than ever, we need to elect strong Democratic leaders who will fight for working families," Sen. Casey said in his recorded telephone message to Harrisburg residents. "That is why I am supporting Democrat Eric Papenfuse for Mayor.

"Eric is the leader that Harrisburg needs to make a fresh start by solving its financial crisis and changing politics as usual. Eric also has a plan to clean up the streets, demolish blighted buildings, and make neighborhoods safer. This Tuesday, please vote for Democrat Eric Papenfuse for Mayor," Casey said.

Messages from Kim are also urging voters to go to the polls on Nov. 5 and vote for Papenfuse as the surest way to change Harrisburg.

"I'm calling today to urge you to take an active role in changing Harrisburg for the better by coming out Tuesday and voting for Eric Papenfuse for Mayor," Kim said. "For far too long, our city has struggled under crippling debt and petty political infighting. It’s time for a change.

"As Mayor, Eric Papenfuse will implement the Harrisburg Strong financial recovery plan and hold those who created this mess accountable," Kim said. "So this Tuesday, please remember to vote, the polls will be open until 8 p.m., and please help us change Harrisburg for the better by electing Eric Papenfuse Mayor."
