Today, at a Capitol press conference, long time good government activists unveiled the latest report on the overall failure to pass a total gift ban for the legislative, executive and judicial branches of the Pennsylvania state government.
Eric Epstein of Rock the Capitol, Dennis Baylor of the Pennsylvania Accountability Project, and Gene Stilp presented the latest report authored by Eric Epstein entitled “The Road Not Taken: A Summary of Attempts to Ban Gifts from 2006 to 2014.”
Epstein said, “The citizens of Pennsylvania should be aware of the failure of the legislature to act in the best interests of the citizenry. The legislature is currently and has been owned and operated by the special monied interest for as long as the citizens can remember. A total gift ban would help correct the long time abuse, but the legislature has failed to act on a total gift ban.”The report is attached.
Good Government activist Gene Stilp assisted by Dennis Baylor developed the campaign to bribe the legislature to pass the total gift ban.
Stilp said, “It appeared to us that the only thing that the legislature understood was bribery. Free money, free tickets, free meals, free trips, is the currency they understand. So we printed “Total Gift Ban Bribe Money” to bribe the legislature to pass such a law. The big gift taker, “Daddy Corbucks” picture is on the new denominations.
