Ellis Roy, a resident of Uptown Harrisburg, took to the mic during the public comment period at City Council to remark in support of the City Council President-ordered bulldozing of the Green Urban Initiative (GUI) garden at the corner of N 6th and Curtin Streets.

Despite an "Adopt-A-Lot" Lease Agreement for the raised bed garden between GUI and the City of Harrisburg, Roy turned to GUI and stated, "You can't just come into somebody's community, set something up because somebody else gave you a lot for a dollar." He then told City Council the Adopt-A-Lot program needs to be revamped since real estate is being leased for such a little amount.

Roy continued to berate GUI for its "disrespect" of the local community in installing the garden. Ellis Roy is the manager of the 1400 Club at N3rd and Calder Streets.
