As released by the County Commissioners Association of Pennsylvania:
The County Commissioners Association of Pennsylvania (CCAP) today elected Jeff Haste, a Dauphin county commissioner, as the 2014 president of the Association during its 127th Annual Conference, which concludes Wednesday in Erie County Pennsylvania. Haste’s term begins January 1.
Other county officials elected to be leaders of the Association include Craig Lehman, Lancaster County commissioner, first vice president; Robert Thomas, Franklin County, second vice president; and Joseph Kantz, Snyder County commissioner, treasurer.
Elected as district representatives were: District 1 Representative Basil Huffman, Forest County commissioner; District 2 Representative Joe Spanik, Beaver County commissioner; District 3 Representative Randy Phiel, Adams County commissioner; District 4 Representative Preston Boop, Union County commissioner; District Representative Kathi Cozzone, Chester County commissioner; District 6 Representative Scott Martin, Lancaster County commissioner and District 7 Representative Daryl Miller, Bradford County commissioner. Also elected as one of the two Pennsylvania representatives to the National Association of Counties board of directors was George Hartwick, Dauphin County commissioner.
Attendees also considered 21 resolutions that could add or change articles in the Pennsylvania County Platform (Platform), the official compilation of CCAP policy positions that guides the Association’s work in the public policy arena. The resolutions will be presented to the Association membership within ten days of the meeting, by electronic ballot, to determine if the resolutions should be included in the Platform.
