Gina Johnson Roberson is running for the 103rd state House seat currently held by Rep. Patty Kim.

Pennlive reported Sunday that the Dauphin County Democratic party voted to hold an open primary for the position.

From Pennlive.

In a surprise move, the Democratic Party of Dauphin County voted not to endorse state Rep. Patty Kim’s bid for a second term representing the 103rd District.

The party on Saturday instead voted for an open primary, which will pit Kim against Harrisburg resident Gina Johnson Robeson, whose served as campaign manager for her brother, Aaron, in his unsuccessful write-in bid against city Mayor Eric Papenfuse.

“I actually was surprised,’’ said party Chairman Marilyn Levin. “Yes, it did take me back. Now I have to take a close look at Gina and get to know her and see what she will offer the people of Harrisburg.''

Gina Roberson, the Grants Officer for the City of Harrisburg, speaks in support of City Council President Wanda Williams' decision to bulldoze the Green Urban Initiative urban garden located at 6th and Curtin Streets in Harrisburg. Robeson chastises GUI members for their outrage over the covert destruction of the garden declaring there are more important things to worry about in the City.

Aside from the fact that the bulldozing of the garden violated the lease between the City and GUI, there has yet to be a disclosure of the cost of the undertaking led by Public Works Deputy Director Aaron Johnson.---Tara Leo Auchey

Is Harrisburg resident Gina Roberson kicking off Mayor Thompson's re-election campaign? During City Council's April 30th Legislative Session, City employee Gina Roberson took the mic during public comment to congratulate Councilor Patty Kim for winning the PA House 103rd Democratic seat in the Primary election. Roberson tells Kim she needs to be a bridge between the State and the City because presently, the Mayor doesn't have help from the State. She closes by saying, "I have one more person to help win election, and that's the mayor." --Tara Leo Auchey
